Summary of the Tutorial Program

The optional tutorial program available to HCA students meets at New Hope Baptist Church on Fridays. Directions are available here. The tutorial serves students in grades 7-12. Qualified teachers are hired to facilitate our classes on Fridays. Throughout the week, parents are responsible for their students, although the tutorial teachers make the weekly assignments. Children may be enrolled in as many or as few classes as they would like.

Registration Information

The tutorial program is an optional program available to families who are enrolled in Heritage Christian Academy. There are additional fees for the tutorial program; these fees vary based on the number of courses you choose to enroll your children in. Registration for the following school year begins every March and continues until classes are full. Contact the office to register: busytrina@comcast.net or (615)754-7946.

Registration Dates:

March 12: Registration for returning HCA tutorial families at New Hope Baptist Church (NHBC) from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

March 19: Registration for returning HCA tutorial families and returning HCA CRS (church-related school) families at NHBC from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

March 26: Registration for families enrolling in HCA for the first time at NHBC from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

If you are registering for the tutorial program during the months of March or April, you will need to complete the following steps to register:

1.     Complete the following forms: the tutorial application form, the tutorial fee schedule form, and the tutorial participation form.
   

2.     Notarize the tutorial participation form on your own or bring the form with you when you register at NHBC. A notary will be present.
   

3.     Bring payment for enrollment fees. See the fee schedule to determine amount due.
   

4.     Check the class schedule to determine classes that you are interested in enrolling your students in.
   

5.     View the graduation requirements to determine classes that your student must take in grades 7-12.
   

Late Registration

If you are registering for the tutorial program during the months of May, June, or July, you will need to complete the following steps to register:

1.     Complete the following forms: the tutorial application form, the tutorial fee schedule form, and the tutorial participation form.
   

2.     Notarize the tutorial participation form.
   

3.     Contact the office at busytrina@comcast.net to see which classes are available.
   

4.     Write the checks for your students’ teachers at the tutorial.
   

5.     Mail the tutorial application form, the tutorial fee schedule form, and the tutorial participation form along with enrollment fees and checks for your students’ tutorial teachers. As the payment varies depending upon services requested, you must view the fee schedule. You may call the office at (615)754-7946 to verify required payment.
   

6.     View the class payment form. Write checks for your students’ teachers and mail them.

1.     How many classes do I have to take?
   

You may take as few or as many classes as you would like.

1.     Do I have to be in the HCA church-related school to be in the tutorial program?
   

Yes, our tutorial and co-op are services to our church-related school (CRS) students.

1.     What curriculum do I need to purchase?
   

For the classes that you will be taking at tutorial, each teacher will provide you with a teacher information form. This form will tell you what books to purchase, where you can get them, and how much they will cost. All the students enrolled in the same class must have the same books.

1.     Are there additional activities available to students enrolled in the tutorial?
   

Yes, we have a calendar full of activities for our tutorial students. Most of them depend on parent volunteers, so please volunteer in areas that you enjoy.
